An Evening Celebrating Leadership, Legacy, and Community Impact

On April 30, 2026, The ABLE Foundation will host its inaugural Legacy Gala at the stunning Newton White Mansion in Mitchellville, Maryland. This landmark evening brings together community leaders, philanthropists, professionals, and changemakers for a night of celebration, recognition, and purpose.

The ABLE Legacy Gala is more than a fundraiser. It is a declaration of what is possible when a community comes together to recognize and uplift the individuals who are creating real, measurable change.

Five Honorees, Five Pillars of Impact

Each honoree represents one of ABLE's five program pillars, reflecting the foundation's holistic approach to community empowerment. This year's honorees are Davon Kelly for Business & Economic Advancement, Phil Lewis for Creative & Cultural Impact, Dr. Tamara Thomas for Education & Development, Dr. Jonelle Samuel for Health & Wellness, and Dr. Korey Johnson for Justice & Equity.

These individuals have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to their respective fields and have made lasting contributions to the Black community and beyond.

What to Expect at the Gala

Guests will enjoy a full evening of Caribbean-inspired cuisine, live entertainment by Marvillous Beats, and a program hosted by Stephen Graddick IV. The evening will feature award presentations, keynote moments, networking opportunities, and a celebration of ABLE's first year of impact.

With an expected attendance of approximately 200 guests, the Legacy Gala is positioned to become one of the premier annual nonprofit events in the greater Washington, D.C. area.

Why This Event Matters

The ABLE Foundation was born from the belief that empowering individuals and communities is essential for generational advancement. In just one year, ABLE has launched the P.I.L.L.A.R. Cohort with 21 fellows across five universities, hosted the Leadership Lab engaging over 50 students, launched the Beyond the Bell film competition, and built a Business Accelerator Series connecting aspiring entrepreneurs with proven leaders.

The Legacy Gala is an opportunity to celebrate that momentum and to invest in what comes next. Proceeds from the event directly fund ABLE's programs, fellowships, and community initiatives.
